Eurotrip 2 !!
ok not a movie, but my life.
went to Bratislava, Slovakia
this weekend with a few friends from school (minus one annoying kid) and had an AWESOME time! who goes to Bratislava on thanksgiving day weekend, you ask? well i do. why? because i can.
(and it’s cheap!!)
it was my first time in eastern europe, and i loved it! the exchange rate is amazing since they haven’t changed over to the euro yet…
so that was definitely something we took advantage of! it was amazing seeing the effects of communism versus the transition to a westernized state. there were cool clubs, (Cirkus Barok which is on a boat on the Danube, Sparx, and Charlie’s are some), cheap shopping, a castle, and some palaces to see.
i think the best part (besides shopping) was the 24-hr sandwich places– ranging from kebabs to deli-style sandwiches, these places were constantly packed. the sandwiches were cheap and delicious. i miss having places nearby that are open 24 hours a day… (we don’t have that in lugano). traditional slovakian food… wellll it’s interesting. a lot of dumplings and poppy seeds. ok i wasn’t a fan to tell you the truth, but you should still try the traditional foods! (”when in rome…”) i completely recommend visiting Bratislava, and i think i would definitely go back! …jusssst make sure you have a train back to your home destination because we almost had to spend the night in Milano Centrale– that would have been the worst night ever.

if losers were winners…
…the franklin college lady falcons would be the champions. had another game tonight… lost 30-something to 70-something. really, this whole losing thing is getting old. we only had 6 players and then in the 3rd or 4th quarter someone else got injured. so we were damn tired. and the other team sucked. that’s the sad thing. they are the worst team we’ve played so far, and we were doing ok in the 1st quarter, then we decided to screw things up. it’s how we do. my D was ok, few steals, my offense not so ok… blah whatever. i’m tired, bruised, sore… i missed the thanksgiving dinner in at north campus to get my ass kicked instead. yay. [but i got my “thanksgiving dinner” in some tupperware to go ) eating it right now in fact…doesn’t even come close to monica’s though

girasole thanksgiving
it’s about 9:30 pm tuesday night and i just got back from the Girasole thanksgiving dinner. it was basically a potluck (though there were those annoying biatches who didn’t bring anything and still thought they deserved food. bastards.) .. anyhoo, katie and i joined forces and made pudding (we each had a box), keely brought pop tarts, kara brought turkey and made pumpkin pie (which caused her to burn her hand as well as her tongue!), asian kid whose name i don’t know made steamed rice and sweet&sour chicken, girl who i don’t like much brought pad thai, pierce made some carrot concoction, ari made mashed potatoes/gravy and mac and cheese, there was some mexican rice, mixed veggies, stuffing, etc etc. dessert consisted of chocolate pudding, pumpkin pie, cookies, dried fruit, brownies, michelle’s delicious pumpkin spice brownie thingies, and some other little pies and things. i’m not gonna lie, i was quite surprised that i returned to my room full and satisfied.
alexis, noe, and i had a good time being loud about our annoyance with the moochers who decided to join us. you know me and my big mouth.
tomorrow we have a basketball game around the same time as the north campus dining hall’s thanksgiving dinner… so i’m going to give keely tupperware and get that dinner to go!
ah now i have much homework that i’ve been neglecting… peace!
katie and i are living proof…
…that all you need is 12 hours to learn about 2 months worth of history material
psh forget that studying like a week in advance. PSH. katie and i are 2 of the 5 people in our class of about 25 who got A’s. that’s right, i said A.
i got a 96! woohoo!!
i love history.
Maintenance Until Monday
Enjoy the weekend, new posts on Monday!

study hard, party harder…
…NOT. more like study hard… then harder.
katie and i spent 12 hours studying for our history exam (that was today) yesterday. we got ourselves situated in the common room with everything we needed, and got down to business. people passed us, left the building, came back… and we were still there. we started at about 2 pm, ended at about 2 am. we covered everything from hinduism to christianity to islam to the roman republic to the roman empire. julius caesar to marcus aurelius, jesus to muhammad. ask me about early and late imperial china and i’ll hopefully still know it. marco polo, kublai khan, the works.
i think the exam was alright– i don’t really think there was anything on there that completely stumped me, ya know?
katie and i are thinking that for the final exam that covers everything we’ve done this semester, we’re going to have to start a few days before the exam, rather than the day before
but hey, our methods work.
i’ll let you know the grade (if it’s good) as soon as i find out
no crying this time…
i think we played the mothers of the girls we made cry last week. haha seriously, tonight we played grown women. and damn, were they good. we lost 80-something to 30-something (surprise surprise). the way we played in the 3rd and 4th quarters was the way we should have played the whole game. had we made quick passes, taken good shots, played good D, we could have been in the game. i finally got to make my 3-pointer and another basket… i started
but then again we have 2 injured players, so that might have something to do with it. i had a gajillion assists though, which i am proud of
oh and i think the highlight was right before the tipoff, one of the refs told one of the women on the other team to take off her ring and in italian she said, “but it’s my wedding ring!” … yes, they were old. oh gosh and i can’t forget the massive woman– no one could stop her, not even kathleen. really, she was gi-normous. ha the refs were funny.. one of them was tiny and he kept getting in the way of passes! annoying. at one point kathleen was like, “don’t you just want to run your hand through his hair?” …yes, he was one of those. haha
oh well … next game is next week i believe… and it’s away. maybe we can make up for this game and make some girls cry!!
peace out people.
**ONE MORE MONTH!!!!!**
this is my roommate…
… in case you were wondering
she’s not always like this, but this was taken like the 1st of 2nd week i got to CH… oh jeez, Keely makes me laugh
(thank god she doesn’t know about this blog .. lol)
